Why is xbox live better than ps3 online?

I have an xbox 360, and of course I’ve always heard the pointless and endless arguments about which system is better. One thing I always hear people say is that xbox live is much beter thatn ps3 online play. I’ve never played ps3 online. What exactly makes xbox live better than ps3 online? I can’t imagine it being TERRIBLE…if it works, then what would be wrong with it?
I own a PS3, and have played a 360. Personally I prefer the PS3 just for the fact I don’t have to pay for it unlike Live. In the long run I see now real difference between the two since you can play online. The whole point of online play is to have a nice experience with other people around the world and both services provide just that.
I have all 3 of the current gen consoles. I just got the PS3 over christmas.
any way i digress……
I have played my 360 online when a friend lent me a network adapter and used my free month of play, but suffered alot of verbal abuse, because my username gives away the fact im a girl.
I was really frustrated as i was winning, the getting kicked out of games
I love the fact that playing games online such as team fortress 2 on the PS3, you cant hear other people unless you have a headset on.
People have complained about lag issues on certain games on Sony’s machine. I know games such as pro evo 2008 have really suffered.
People also mention that there arent as many players online.
I have had no problems with any of the games i have taken online, mainly racing titles, and as mentioned TF2.
I’m also loving the fact i dont have to pay to play. I’m sure there will be alot more players around after the like of GTA 4 and home are released.
see you online!
The PSN (Playstation Network) wins,
Microsoft simply havn’t updated their system as people still use the oringinal xboxs and which means it suffers. There is quite often a problem with Xbox live for one reason or another and the server can be down for days at a time. the PSN hasn’t been down, it does get regular checks but these are by the game developers and each game should tell you when their online play wont be avaliable. The problem with PES2008 is the fact that its multi-platform (ps3 and 360) means the way it was set up was so it would suit both best it can out of the box, but because the PS3 get regular updates this problem is being rectified.
You may get loads of Xbox fanboys (and girls) saying live is better, most of these will never have used the PSN or will even give it a try. The only reason they could have to think that live is better is because there are more users, this comes down to the fact that the 360 is cheaper ‘out of the box’ and most parents who buy the console for their kids don’t know about the charges for playing online until they have bought the console, thus forcing them to have to buy the online subscription just to shut their kids up.
Basically the only reason that xbox live has the edge here is the fact that it’s been around longer and therefore has more users and available games. Sony is progressing by leaps and bounds however and will be adding a ton of new stuff this year and so far I haven’t experienced any of the problems with them that are common to xbox users. Given a little time I have no doubt that ps3 online will far surpass live. In my humble opinion, It’s a better system from a better company.
I agree with Steve May.
